Join the First Edition of the Summit Downtown Map

We're excited to invite locally owned businesses to participate in the inaugural Summit Downtown Map — a collaborative project designed to celebrate, promote, and strengthen our downtown community.

Launching in Fall 2026, the Summit Downtown Map will serve three purposes:

A Functional Guide

The map will help residents and visitors explore downtown Summit, discover new businesses, and navigate our vibrant shopping and dining district. Designed as an easy-to-use folding map, it will encourage people to spend more time downtown and support local businesses.

A Piece of Local Art

Created by New Jersey artist and illustrator Chelsea Leifken, the map features original hand-drawn artwork that captures the character and charm of Summit. Each participating business will receive a custom illustrated feature, making the finished map both a practical resource and a keepsake-worthy representation of our downtown.

A Shared Marketing Initiative

The Summit Downtown Map is a grassroots marketing effort created by downtown small business owners and funded entirely through participation from local businesses. By joining, you'll be helping create a community-wide promotional piece that highlights the collective strength and diversity of Summit's independent business community.

Participation Details

Participation Fee: $125 per business ($129 if paying via credit card, to include credit card processing fees)

What's Included

  • Placement on the illustrated Summit Downtown Map
  • A custom illustrated feature of your business
  • Inclusion in a collaborative downtown marketing initiative
  • Community-wide distribution of the finished map beginning September 2026

We're aiming to include approximately 70 locally owned businesses in the first edition.

How to Participate

To be included in the first edition of the Summit Downtown Map:

  1. Complete the participation form
  2. Submit your participation payment
  3. Share a few visual details about your business to inspire the illustration
