About the Role

As a Sales Assistant, you'll spend part of your time on the sales floor delivering an exceptional customer experience alongside our team. The other part of your day, you'll step into an administrative support role , serving as a right hand to the owner by managing communications, tracking action items, handling vendor and customer follow-up, and keeping the day-to-day running smoothly behind the scenes.

The ideal candidate is someone who can shift gears without losing momentum and is equally comfortable engaging customers on the floor and working independently on administrative tasks when the floor is covered. If you're energized by variety, ownership, and being the person who makes things happen, this role was built for you.

This is a full-time position requiring consistent daytime availability, including weekends and peak retail periods.

What You’ll be Doing:

Sales Floor Support

  • Provide a warm, welcoming, and consistent customer experience on the sales floor

  • Assist customers with styling, sizing, product recommendations, and gift selections

  • Accurately process transactions, returns, and gift wrapping with care

  • Maintain ownership of the sales floor during your shift, supporting smooth daily operations

  • Assist with online order fulfillment, ensuring accuracy and quality

  • Keep the floor organized, well-stocked, and visually appealing

  • Partner with the team on all opening and closing procedures

  • Support visual merchandising and assist with getting new product on the floor

Administrative Support

  • Monitor and respond to incoming emails on behalf of the owner, taking ownership of routine communications and flagging items that need direct attention

  • Manage the owner's daily to-do list by completing tasks within your scope, tracking open items, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks

  • Respond to customer and vendor inquiries via email, texts, and the store's text platform in a timely, professional manner

  • Handle elevated customer requests, including special orders, damages, and follow-up

  • Support vendor communications, including tracking shipments, flagging discrepancies, and coordinating returns or damage claims

  • Occasionally assist with personal administrative tasks (e.g., time-sensitive communications) as directed

What You’ll Bring:

  • Genuine enthusiasm for customer service and creating a warm, welcoming in-store experience

  • Strong organizational skills- you keep things tidy, tracked, and moving forward without being asked

  • The ability to shift between customer-facing and task-focused work quickly and without losing effectiveness in either mode

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • A high level of discretion and trustworthiness; you'll have access to communications and operations that require good judgment

  • A proactive, ownership-oriented mindset- you notice what needs to be done and take care of it

  • Strong reliability and availability, with the ability to commit to a consistent full-time schedule including weekends and peak periods

  • Comfort following established processes while also helping to build new ones

  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach and genuine desire to contribute to the success of the business

  • High energy and stamina for a role that keeps you on your feet and engaged throughout the day

Full time, 30-40 hours per week. All full time positions are eligible for NJ Sick Time and Paid Time Off (PTO).
