The brand's size guide describes that a 36 fits like a US4, 38 like a US6, 40 like a US8, 42 like a US10.  These pants are designed to stretch, but we are comfortable sizing up in these pants. Lindsay is 5'6" and is wearing the 36.  She typically wears a 25 or 26 in denim.
